We are better Together
At The Bridge you hear us say often, “don’t do life alone” or “we are better together.”
Over the past year we have seen this as evident as any time in my life. In March of last year my family and I headed out to Colorado for Spring Break. There was excitement in the air as we drove out of the drive way. We where heading skiing!! My family loves snow, skiing and Colorado so this was going to be a fun trip.
Little did we know that we would head home one week later to a different world.
Not long after we headed home we and most of the world went into a two week lock down. Well it ended up being much longer than that. In fact we spent more time in our house and less time traveling than anytime in my life.
Here is what I was reminded of…One of the devil’s most successful tactics is isolation. He wants you to be isolated from those in your life. If Satan can convince you that you are all alone with no help, he can twist your perception to make you believe almost anything he wants. That is a scary thought but one that has been played out time and time again.
Has Satan convinced you that are you are all alone?
This is nothing new that is why they Bible has a lot to say about it.
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” —Joshua 1: 9 NLT
If you find yourself feeling isolated and alone first realize that God is with you. It is a promise that we see over and over in the scriptures. God loves you desperately, deeply, and intensely whether you ever talk to him or not—because He made you.
Not only is He there for you but he made you for community – life-giving relationships between people who bear each other’s burdens.
Galatians 6:2 says, Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
There’s no way you can be all God wants you to be and fulfill the purposes that you were put on this planet to fulfill without any help. We need each other, and we belong to each other in the Body of Christ!
Yes it has been a strange and difficult year for most, there is no doubt. However, instead of falling into the trap of isolation lets lean into each other, the Body of Christ, the church.
If you have found yourself missing church or watching online in isolation. Let me encourage you to realize we are better together. That is how God created us.
ISOLATION says, no one cares, no one understands, you are better off by yourself.
HOPE says you are loved, you are needed, you belong and you have a purpose. Never lose sight of the hope that is found in Jesus.
